False start costs Andrew Pozzi as Orlando Ortega wins 110m hurdles in Stockholm

Great Britain’s European Indoor champion Andrew Pozzi was disqualified in the 110 metres hurdles at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Stockholm.

Pozzi was punished for a false start and could only watch as Spain’s Olympic silver medallist Orlando Ortega narrowly beat world champion Sergey Shubenkov – by 0.01 seconds – to win in 13.09.

Canada’s Andre De Grasse clocked an impressive 9.69 to win the 100m, although the wind-assisted time will not count for record purposes.

Ivory Coast’s Ben Youssef Meite came second in 9.84 with Ryan Shields of Jamaica third in 9.89.

Timothy Cheruiyot of Kenya held off Bahrain’s Alsadik Mikhou to win the 1,500m in a time of three minutes 30.77 seconds.
